EOL. We are in the post PC era. At best there will be minor, mostly cosmetic changes. Geek Bench scores will not change much for the next few years. Intel has hit a wall, technical, financial, and managerial.

I'll bet never but the last full week of October is the point of no return for 2012.
I am still hoping to see the new imac this month.
here in belgium you must wait 3 weeks if you order a imac in the stores.
there is no stock in the stores.
If the iMac isn't updated by Nov 15th... I think it's safe to say that it's been End Of Lined.
I don't think that's likely whatsoever but if that was indeed the case... there would be a LOAD of heart broke folks on these forums.

It's true, apart from the basic 21,5" model, there's plenty in stock at Switch (Belgian reseller). This is interesting. So i checked my local resellers and it's true. i hadn't noticed it yet. So i better wait to buy an iMac.

Frankly I'm amazed that so many people think the iMac would be EOLed. There's still few years to go before Apple does this to their desktops, just in my opinion..
It'll happen when it happens. Speculation on a new iMac release has been literally beaten to death in a ridiculous number of threads, including polls for projected release dates. I doubt anything more can be said that hasn't been already said hundreds of times.
What should and what is seem to be at odds. Whatever you think, it is clear that in general, Apple has let the desktop side of the business fall in priority to just about the lowest level, just above EOL.
I know that Apple is typical in axing successful product lines but they'll still want to have some sort of "office" machine for developers.
In early November , perhaps, As far as I have come to know that they are still planning to built in some more new and fresh features.
It is not going out of production ! That's just a stupid to think. iMacs are a big income for apple, though not nearly what the iphone earns. But it's needed both in production and inside apple. Also all-in-one computers are in 2012 for the first time selling more than desktop computers in total....and apple has the flagship AIO computer. There's absolutely no reason to think it will be discontinued. Slow updates yes, but it will NOT be discontinued. 100% guaranteed.
5 years in computers is a lifetime. Even on this poll 17% think EOL and 22% think 2013. That's not much faith.
