2012 iMac release date?

According to Apple Denmark (no, not just some guy at a retail store, but from the head office) the 21" will be available to order in November - but they know nothing about delivery time. The 27" will not take pre-orders when the 21" becomes available, but can be ordered in December.

I really don't hope they make the 21" available next week, and then give it 3-4 weeks delivery time... I really hope that this late release means they can meet demand from day 1.

You basically just quoted what every Apple rep is saying and what the website says...

I am always frustrated by the act that the Apple employees are like walking Apple.coms with absolutely no more info than what's in the site.
They should hire me and buyers would be way more informed.

Seriously? Any news about shipping times for the 21.5?

Wondering if this will be same in UK...good news nonetheless!

This is good news. I am curious as to if this was an actual Apple store rep that provided this information. I called Apple today and was told there still is no release date. Just trying to see how reliable this info is before I plan to change my schedule to get to the Apple store Friday.

@Ademordna - I thinks the person is referring to the 21.5" model.

You know it's bull because Apple wouldn't be so stupid to release the 27" so close to Christmas.

Yeah even if this sales said this, he probably didn´t know anyway. We all know apple employees far down the chain usually pull these dates out of their a/ss....and they usually have different info each and every one of them.

But, it could be true, but it really doesn´t make sense to release the 27" so close to christmas. At least I hope this is the shipping day, not when they will start taking orders.

I know what you mean: an Apple rep told me (3 weeks ago) that the 21.5 was sure to be available within a week, no longer. That time has loooong been and gone. Not sure why he bothered, really.
 
I was chatting with an online sales rep from Apple yesterday regarding many problems I've been having (long story...) and in that convo I asked when they anticipated the 21inch iMac to be released, because I may try that out instead of faulty MBP after faulty MBP. He said:

Him: Was there anything else I could assist with today? I do wish you the best of luck on getting this resloved.‬‬
Me: Just the question about the new imac- if you know approx. when it's supposed to come out? The website says november
‪Him: What model were you looking for?‬‬
Me: the 21 inch base model... there isn't much info on the website about the specs though
‪Him: Do you currently have anything of the previous models?‬‬
Me: no
‪Him: At this time we do believe the new iMac 21.5 will be released November 26. ‬‬

Who knows if there is any truth to that, but I'll definitely be on the lookout!
 
I went ahead and ordered a $1000 PC last night...

i3 processor
Motherboard with two thunderbolt ports
8GB ram
256GB SSD
Windows 8 Pro


Can't believe I am buying a PC... its been more than 14 years since I bought one. Oh well.

I'm so over the wait also....
But the thought of using Windows makes me want to vomit.

Mac is not just about specs, it's the elegance of the OS and beauty of design.

......I think I'll give MacRumors a break...
