Hey Guys Hope you can lend me some insight,

So as the title suggests I recently purchases a 2012 new mac mini and have hooked it up via HDMI to my 2009/2010 (cant recall) Samsung LCD tv.

When hooked up with an excellent quality HDMI cable the screen defaults to 1080p settings. However, in 1080p the text/image quality is jagged and painful to read (literally painful. hurts my eyes). So, I adjusted the screen to 1344x756 and in that setting the text is much more managable and overall the image quality is better. My problem is that in 1344x756 the windows default to such a large size. I would prefer to downsize the windows of all apps (safari, finder, ect.) to that of 1080 specs and I am not sure how to do so.

IF, someone has a better suggestion about what to do with my 1080p settings so that i can keep it at 1080p and still have a nice image then please - let me know.

I have also read that the image quality becomes better if connecting the mac mini to an LCD tv is done with the HDMI to Mini DVI adaptor and then connecting it to the TV via a mini-DVI to DVI cord. Is this true?

tips, advice, suggestions are all appreciated.

Ummm. It looks fine in both resolutions. And further, I can't imagine adding lots of connectors and convertors could possibly increase the quality of the picture on a tv. Also, there is currently no 2012 model mac mini. Your mini is a 2011 (mac mini 5,x) if you purchased a new one.
