Is there any speculation of Apple updating the new Air 13" to have a more of a wide screen like the 11"?

It's definitely possible. As I understand it's easier to get 16:9 panels because it's become the standard for TVs.
That said, I hope they don't do that. On the 11" it makes sense because they wanted it to be wide enough to fit the full keyboard, but on the 13" I think 16:10 is preferable.

When I went TV shopping there where millions of 11 inch and 13 inch TV's to choose from! 😀
Hardly any 40 inch and above!!
It's a trend in all displays because of the HDTV standard. Apple is kinda unique in that they pick a screen resolution for each laptop that fits it well. Other manufacturers have 11", 13", 14", 15", and 17" laptops all with 1366x768 displays, with a 1080p option if you're lucky.
