here's hoping it wasnt a mistake :/ big Ben has been performing well in fantasy points and I desperately needed a RB. Hope CJ continues to rock

Well, I've got FJax in another league, so I hope he comes back to a job. If Spiller keeps performing like he's done so far then I'm not sure Jackson will get the RB1 position back. :(

Okay, I've looked into Rick's question and sent him a PM response. However, it's probably something I should explain in case it comes back up or others have questions. When players are released or dropped from a team the ESPN waiver system imposes a mandatory waiting period before another team can pick that player up. I think it's 24 hours, but that could be wrong.

All players in the league lock at the start time of their weekly game and can not be added to or dropped from a roster. This locking period lasts from their game until the opening of the waiver wire for the next week. All players unlock Wednesday evenings at something like 2:00 or 3:00 AM in the morning.

So, if you want to pick up a player who someone else just dropped then you will have to wait until they unlock. If that player's weekly game starts before they have a chance to unlock then you won't be able to pick them up until they unlock after that week's round of games.

I hope this makes sense. Please understand that I don't control ESPN's waiver system or waiver rules. As commissioner all I get to do is decide how long our waiver period will be during the week. For our league that is set for 48 hours, meaning that players will unlock 2 days after the ending of the Monday night game. This gives eveyone a fair chance to research and target players for acquisition after games are finished and before the next week begins.

The reason Rick can't pick up his player of choice is because that player was just released by someone else and plays tonight. The player won't unlock before the start time of his next game. Sorry Rick, you'll be able to pick the player up when waivers unlock next week.

Heyward-Bey, who was carted off the field Sunday against the Steelers following a helmet-to-helmet hit, was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for a neck injury, according to the CBS live game broadcast.
Spin: Heyward-Bey was knocked unconscious, so it seems safe to say that he sustained a concussion. Hopefully, he avoided any other serious issues beyond that.

Spiller (left shoulder) will be out next week, the Buffalo News reports. "I don't believe it's long, long term," said coach Chan Gailey, who noted that Spiller's collarbone is not broken. "If he misses a week, that's long for me. I think he's going to be out for sure this week, and then we'll see where he goes from there."

you HAVE to be kidding me :smh:

Well, MJD and AJ Green having big days was enough to do me in this week. I hate it when you put up good numbers, but play one of the league's top scorers on that particular week. Sigh, I guess I'm not going to go undefeated this year after all... :( ;)

I like my possibilities even more. I got a bit anxious last night though, when Graham to a inexpensive taken to the go. Fortunately the guy is a container, and he wasn't irritated at all.

good timing on my spiller trade?!

The injury bug is biting a lot of players this year. FJax, Forte, Spiller, Hernandez, Jennings, Collie, Heyward-Bay, and many more. I don't remember a year with so many early injuries.

If ARod actually performs like we all know he can then Rick will definitely end up with the better deal. Of course Big Ben sure went off this week making the loss of Rodgers no big deal. This is why fantasy football is so much fun; every move is a risk/reward and the drama is incredible. :D

Horrible week for me. 0-4 across all the leagues I play in. I'm now a dead even 2-2 on the season. Things will get better. I know they will. :D

Holy tons of huge scores this week, Batman!

I thought I was sitting pretty with 151, then I scroll down and see Jackalopes with 168!!!

I'm in three leagues this year...
2-2 but just beat the presumptive favorite 151-144.
3-1 and lost my first heads-up with a ton of under-performers... wasn't even really close.
4-0 in this league! Suddenly, my stupid auto-pick draft that netted me 4 QBs is not doing as bad as I thought it would be.. there I go jinxing myself by the way. :)

Phew.. didn't think I would come back in my matchup. Down 9 points with Arian Foster, but my opponent having Houston's D. Was thinking their D would score just enough to offset whatever Foster was going to give me.

It turned out to be much closer than I thought it would. I'm a Bears fan and can't believe I chose Houston over them this week :(
