Hey mscriv, the Patriots defense/special teams scored 2 touchdowns yesterday, and the score for the Jackalopes is only showing 1. Please correct it. Thanks.

Above my paygrade. ;)

The scoring is not final until the week of games is over. Don't worry, ESPN will correct it.

Looks like...

Mscriv has clinched a playoff spot and the division with his win over Cupertino Apples. With Whittier Poet's loss this week, even a win by Apples and Mscriv in their games next week would result in a tied record, which based on their head-to-head records would bring in to play the Points For tie-breaker. As Mscriv has a nearly statistical lock on the Points For tie-breaker (over 300 points) over Apples, Mscriv would win the division.

With a win against GO CHARGERS! and a loss for Berlin Pretzels, Team Fireshot will clinch a spot in the playoffs. If Pretzels can come back against GO CHARGERS!, Pretzels will need to win convincingly... likely by more than 30 points in order to force the Points For tie-breaker into their favor. Team Fireshot therefore has a commanding lead on the divisional title over Pretzels.

AA Chunzilla has also clinched a playoff spot and the iPhone division crown, as even a loss next week against GO CHARGERS! and a win by Colorado Jackalopes next week will result in the head-to-head tie-breaker falling in Chunzilla's favor.

Wildcat Killers needs a win against Joe Buck Yourself (4-7), and a loss by the Cheesechamps next week against The Horse Wrangler (1-10) in order force a tie atop their division. With a 1-1 head-to-head record, and an approximately 100 point deficit in Points For to make up, Cheesechamps are the favorites to take home the IPad divisional title and a spot in the playoffs.

Based on the expected outcomes after this week, the playoff seedings stand as:

Clinched or likely clinched:
Mscriv
Chunzilla (0-1 versus Mscriv)
Fireshot
Cheesechamps
Control their own destiny:
Colorado Jackalopes (2-0 against Chargers, 0-1 against Pretzels, 0-1 against Poets, 0-0 against Apples)
Cupertino Apples (0-1 against Chargers, 0-1 against Pretzels, 1-1 against Poets, 0-0 against Jackalopes)
Whittier Poets (1-0 against Chargers, 1-0 against Pretzels, 1-1 against Apples, 1-0 against Jackalopes)
Still in the hunt:
Chargers (1-0 against Pretzels, 0-1 against Poets, 1-0 against Apples, 0-2 against Jackalopes)
Pretzels (0-1 against Poets, 0-1 against Chargers, 1-0 against Apples, 1-0 against Jackalopes)

Even with their win this week, Joe Buck Yourself has been eliminated.

However, looking at the final match ups of the season...
Cupertino Apples (7-5) versus Colorado Jackalopes (7-5)
Whittier Poets (6-6) versus Mscriv (8-4)
GO CHARGERS! (6-6) versus Chunzilla (8-4)
Berlin Pretzels (6-6) versus Team Fireshot (7-5)
Joe Buck Yourself (5-7) versus Wildcat Killers (4-8)
Cheesechamps (5-7) versus The Horse Wrangler (2-10)

Some clarity begins to emerge...

- The winner of the Jackalopes/Apples match up is in, which leaves one spot left. One of Poets, Chargers or Pretzels must win in order to force a tie with Jackalopes/Apples loser.
- If Poets, Chargers and Pretzels all win their final games, and Jackalopes loses: whoever has more Points For between Poets and Pretzels is in.
- If Poets, Chargers and Pretzels all win their final games, and Apples loses: whoever has the most Points For among Chargers or Pretzels is in.
- If all three of Poets, Chargers and Pretzels lose in their final games, both Apples and Jackalopes are in regardless of their result.

In a head-to-head tie, Jackalopes would:
- win against Chargers
- lose against Pretzels
- lose against Poets

In a head-to-head tie, Apples would:
- lose against Chargers
- lose against Pretzels
- lose against Poets (if Points For holds up)

In a head-to-head-tie, Poets would:
- win against Chargers
- win against Pretzels
- win against Apples (if Points For holds up)
- win against Jackalopes

In a head-to-head tie, Chargers would:
- win against Pretzels
- lose against Poets
- win against Apples
- lose against Jackalopes

In a head-to-head tie, Pretzels would:
- lose against Poets
- lose against Chargers
- win against Apples
- win against Jackalopes

Therefore, the following needs to happen for these teams:

Pretzels in the playoffs:
- Poets lose, Chargers lose

Chargers in the playoffs:
- Poets lose, Jackalopes win

Poets in the playoffs:
- win their final game

Apples in the playoffs:
- win against Jackalopes, or
- loss against Jackalopes, Pretzels lose, Poets lose

Jackalopes in the playoffs:
- win against Apples, or
- Chargers lose, Pretzels lose, Poets lose

Bottom Line?
So, both the Jackalopes and Apples control their own destiny: win and they are in. The Poets also control their own destiny as they hold a tie-breaker advantage over both the Apples and the Jackalopes. The loser of the Jackalopes/Apples match up, and the Pretzels and Chargers would need a little help to sneak into the playoffs.

the black and blue division ie. iPad div has a solid matchup this week between the sleeper cheesechamps and the horsewrangles. should be a close one but I think the champs will edge it out. considering the terrible trades I've made I'm completely surprised by my teams current strong lineup. we will be ready come playoff time

wow, i still have a shot. actually better than a shot, just need to win and i'm in.

thanks for the write up stonyc!

My team is firing on all cylinders right now,,, ok maybe not all. Ok, I have a good quarterback when he shows up! :D

Projected playoff teams and seeding (names in bold have clinched both a spot and the seed, teams in italics are strongly predicted to make the playoffs:

1. mscriv (9-4)
2. Team Fireshot (9-4)
3. AA Chunzilla (8-5)
4. Greenbay CheeseChamps (5-8), by virtue of a 95-point Points For differential (if current point differentials hold up, Wildcat Killers have only made up 27 points thus far and Wildcat has played all of its available players)
5. Colorado Jackalopes (8-5), if they manage to hold on and beat Cupertino Apples (currently 116-115, with Victor Cruz for Jackalopes and Josh Morgan for Apples yet to play)
6. GO CHARGERS (7-6), as long as Jackalopes beats Apples (if Jackalopes loses, Jackalopes would get the last playoff spot as they hold the head-to-head tie breaker over Chargers)

So, if Apples can make a comeback against Jackalopes, Chargers would be knocked out by virtue of their head-to-head disadvantage to Jackalopes.

mscriv and Fireshot are to receive first-round byes, with the following first-round match-ups:

#3 Chunzilla versus #6 GO CHARGERS! or Jackalopes
#4 CheeseChamps versus #5 Jackalopes or Apples

With mscriv getting the winner of the 4/5 matchup, and Fireshot getting the winner of the 3/6 matchup.

which doesn't mean anything...no reward. can you atleast make me a trophy?

Guess what, you did make the playoffs. You edged out Cupertino Apples for the #6 seed due to the fact that you each went 7 -6 for the season and you beat him in your one head to head match up.

Congrats!

Sorry Cupertino Apples, it stinks getting bounced out of the playoffs the last week of regulation play. :(
