I'm willing to trade Santonio Holmes - It's not like they can go the entire season without scoring a touchdown.

Right?

;)

Brutal. But I do think preseason doesn't automatically equal success or failure in the regular season. If the offense plays like that week 1, then I'd be concerned.

I just comforted a Jets fan.

:D And I thank you.

It's going to be a long, long, long season, I think. One day, hopefully in the next decade or two, all of this misery will pay off.

Here is some more good news for you. ESPN is reporting that the Jets have traded away RT Wayne Hunter. I've watched the Jets in preseason, and Hunter is just terrible.

I did see that, and we'll see how much of an impact Smith has - Austin Howard played well on Sunday (I'm hopeful that will continue), so hopefully this will give us some depth.

I feel for Wayne Hunter. He's been awful this preseason - he played some LT on Sunday and gave up a sack as well IIRC.

Just another week in the life of a Jets fan. :(

so i see a trade just went thru. why did we not get to vote on this?

pretty lame.

Actually, there have been two trades in the iOS league thus far. I can only assume that you haven't read the rules of the league, the fact is, they haven't changed since last year. The Commissioner alone has veto power over trades; they are not put up for a league wide vote.

In my opinion this is the most balanced and fair way to manage a league. When you give everyone in the league a vote then you allow for more opportunity that someone will abuse the veto power and block a trade just because they don't like it or they don't want a rival in their division to improve their team. Outside of collusion there is really very little reason to veto a trade. Just like many other things in life, opinions about value will vary greatly. A difference of opinion regarding player value or potential is not a solid reason for any team owner to veto another owners trade. In order to avoid these kinds of debates and to ensure that owners have a positive experience in the league I take sole veto responsibility. I can't vouch for any given owner's ability to be impartial. I can vouch for my own objectivity and impartiality.

For the most part trades will be allowed to go through without too much scrutiny. It's not up to me as Commissioner to tell owners how to best manage their teams. My job is to ensure that there is no collusion, not to police whether someone is making a "wise" decision. I assure you that all trades are reviewed and the key criteria is that both owners are genuinely seeking to improve their own team. This can definitely become an issue later in the season if an owner is no longer actively managing their team or has been eliminated from the playoffs and doesn't care about giving up good players without getting any value in return.

If you would like to file a grievance regarding either of the trades then you can email or IM me and I will be happy to investigate further. If you are just upset that I traded with someone else after offering a similar trade with you then I'm sorry, but you turned down my trade offer. Thus, I looked elsewhere to find a way to improve my team. I'm assuming that everyone in the league is consistently looking for how to improve their team and thus their chances to win each week.

How long do we have to make changes in our lineups? Is it game time for each of the players involved, 1 hour before game time etc. Also, I downloaded the ESPN fantasy app for my iPhone. Is there anyway to have the game times listed in MDT instead of EDT?

your the commish and your doing the unfair trading. let the league vote on a trade you do. that is complete BS that you get to deem your trades fair. they are not. and for all the others, check this 'fair' trade out he wants to do with me. whatta joke.

A top tier QB for a top tier RB? Seems fair to me. What should you be offered for McCoy so that the trade is "fair"?

I'm not saying it's an awesome deal - I'm just saying that there are leagues where a QB is more valuable. In our draft, Eli went 10th overall (LOL MacNut).
Well I would have picked Rogers had Downs not fixed the draft.:p
