well my MBA air is supposed to get here today and i am kinda frustrated with the new releases of the MBP.

So now that there are the new releases

would it be better to stay with the MBA or return it and get the 13 MBPr???

theres only a difference of $60 between the two, i know many of you said that i did not need the power of the MBP but the weight difference is only .5 lb and battery life difference says 9 compared to 12 on the air

so you want to give up battery life to have a lower usable resolution screen and carry around more weight just to get a slightly faster computer that you will never take advantage of?

I mean if that's really what you want, go for it.

i was just putting out there as a discussion, if there is really no need for me to have the MBP than i will stay with it but i just thought maybe the retina would be better.

how is the MBPr lower resolution? less ppi?

I'm not sure how the introduction of a new size of MacBook invalidates my conclusion. I imagine the MBA will still be around, despite the 12" newcomer. Or do you think it will replace all Apple laptops?

If the 13" and 11" are still around, they will have smaller bezels and thinner form factor, else they wouldn't sell well against the 2014 12". I think there will be a 12" and 15" version of the Air with the new chassis and IGZO screen.

there really is no need.

macbook air has a resolution of 1366x768

the MBPr runs at 1200x800 effective resolution (2400x1200)

So while the resolution of the retina macbook pro is higher than the air, there is more effective screen real estate on an air. hopefully that makes sense
