Hello Everyone,

I recently upgraded my old reliable 2013 MacBook Pro 15" Retina to an M1 MacBook Pro 14". I asked around and my wife and friend's aren't looking for an older MacBook to tinker around with, so that leads me to my question:

Question:
Where is the best place to trade-in / sell an old MacBook Pro these days?

Any help or assistance would be super appreciated. Thanks!

I'll say something like Craigslist because you don't have to deal with the fees, that ebay imposes and the risk of someone disputing the charge. Buyers have more advantages on eBay then sellers.

The downsides of craigslist (or facebook marketplace) is its a smaller audience then eBay, and you get the low ballers who try to get what your selling for ultra low - giving you sob stories and what not. The plus side is you deal with cash (or venmo) and once you meet with him/her and execute the transaction, you're done.

Ebay you have more potential customers, and you can get into a bidding war, but as I mentioned you have fees, that add up and potential headaches of a needy customer. I've sold a number laptops on auction sites, in a couple of instance I had do a return for false reasons but i had no choice I'll avoid them.

Finally provided you have an posts, MacRumors has a Marketplace forum.

Thanks for the reply! What about other websites where you can sell MacBook's like:

I used this for a few iPhones back in the day, but I don't hear people talk about them for laptops very much.
