I was not in the soak test/test drive for the 5.1 update like I was for the 5.0.2 update, but it looks like today it is rolling out to (at least here in the US for those with unbranded or Google Edition versions of the Moto X/G).

I just randomly checked to see if I had an update and boom:

Jeez, my Moto X 2014 doesn't have 5.1 yet.....

Yeah, but I'm wondering if this is some test drive version of 5.1 though, even though I never got an email for a new soak test??

The Version number is listed as LPA23.12-7 (which is not a normal Android version number. Maybe a Motorola version number of Lollipop?)

Anyway, all the 5.0.2 glitches appear to have been fixed. My Moto X on that soak test build was horrible. Lots of app crashes, memoryleak issues and apps having difficulty updating. Now, my Moto X is as smooth as can be and I'm loving it again. Contemplating buying a Moto 360 now while the prices just dumped. I can stand to lose $150 on Android Wear to see if I like it with 5.1.1. Was gonna get the Urbane, but at $350, it is less of an impulse purchase.
