Agreed, I'm totally bummed out.

what a way to go out, man on third to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth with two outs...just need a hit - any hit - and it ends with a lousy foul ball cuz perez keeps swinging at upstairs garbage.

Kudos to the Royals! Both these teams were very similar on paper but the edge went to the Giants with experience and their secret weapon, Madison Bumgarner!!

And yes, I am a Giants fan!!! Way to go Giants!!!

don't be a sissy ;)

let's have madbum bail us out in 7th game and have him get MVP ... we're trying to start a dynasty, right?

We already have heroes like MVP Renteria, Lincecum (2010) and later MVP Sandoval, Posey, Zito (2012) and now Ishikawa (second shot heard round the world in NLCS) and let's add ole Bumgarner to that list for this year who should get MVP if we win it all.

If we do win wouldn't it be great to have Madbum pitch the 9th? He so deserves it having played a quiet backseat to Lincecum and Cain at first, then Cain and Zito in two World Series.

I was just talking to my oldest son about that. I'd throw everyone and especially MADBUM at them tonight!

Very happy for the guys and especially happy for Tim Hudson. one of my all time faves ...

i'd dump peavy asap.

Congrats to SF for winning the series. After Tuesday evening's pummeling, I really thought KC had it in hand. It looks like SF out KC, KC with the aggressive base running. Bumgarner a beast in the post season so I'm glad to see him get the MVP.

Hudson, now the World Series champ.

But Peavy did win for the Giants in the first NLDS matchup against NL regular season leader Washington Nationals and did well for the Boston Red Sox last year ( http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/09/jake-peavy-finally-a-postseason-success-with-red-sox/ ) letting him receive his second WS ring in consecutive years. Peavy also is here partying with SF Giants last night. You don't have to win a WS game as starting pitcher (neither Hudson nor Peavy) but be part of a long season team effort that leads to us getting there.

peavy - not worried about him winning. i don't like him! strikes me as a jerk. and it was a stoopid signing.

Panda winking to the TV camera before his first at bat of the night. Panda falling on his back with joy after squeezing the final out. Bumgarner and Posey throwing their arms up in unison and embracing on the infield grass. Me, kind of collapsing in a joyous heap. This one was incredibly hard! Such a rollercoaster ride.

I waited a long, long time for that first World Series win. Being a Giants fan used to feel tantamount to a curse. With three titles in five years, it actually feels like a blessing.

2015 is an odd-numbered year, so we won't be there. I hope the Royals get back and win it. Great team, and Yost must've silenced the doubters. No shame in getting beaten by a World Series pitching performance by Madison Bumgarner they'll be talking about for many decades to come. I'll sure never forget it!
