2014 rMBP 16GB the new standard

    The 15" being a "premium" option (or at least showing a premium price), it's possible they want to bump every cheap component possible: Haswell Refresh and 16GB so-dimm.

    I wish that standard was applied to the 13" too, but knowing Apple they wouldn't.

    Maybe for the top-tier rMBP, but I don't see apple making 16GB standard. I think it would be a good move and remove a lot of angst related to ram and purchases though.

    This allows Apple to buy more of the same spec RAM chips in bulk and they probably get memory quite cheap to begin with, so perhaps no price increase needed for the 15" base model (hopefully).
