Been through a swelled battery and then repair with this MBP already under Applecare 2 years ago. Now the lid doesn't close flush again by about 1/4". If left with power off, the lid looks more flush. But when the unit heats up, then the gap appears. Coconut Battery and the machine itself says the battery health is good. MBP operates fine in all respects but for the lid not being flush. The upper corners of the touch pad are slightly raised. Is it the battery anyway or some other issue. Taking it to the Apple Store for inspection today. Love my 15. Don't want to upgrade if I don't have to do so. Any ideas?

If it's the battery, get it replaced, even if you have to pay for the repair.
A 2015 MBP is just too nice to give up!

Battery swollen again. $200. Thought it might be more. Worth it to keep the 2015 though. I'm using my old 2012 non-retina MBP in the meantime with 16gb of ram. Actually seems faster than the 2015 with 8gb. What do you know? Both have the original keyboards and ports built in. Yay!

Weird that it's needed a battery replacement twice. Do you leave it plugged in a lot? Use it in a hot environment? Might not hurt to see if they can clean the fans and replace thermal past for you. Or if you're like me and want to do a proper thermal paste replacement, DIY.

My 2015 15" MBP got a fresh battery and to-case due to the recall and I replaced the thermal paste with Arctic MX-4 to help temps (only helped a little lol...these just don't have great coolers in them). I also disabled power nap as it got hot in that mode since the fans don't run. Should last a long time now!
