Okay, I just had to make a post about the awesome battery life in the most recent rMBP. I picked one up a few weeks to replace my 2011 MBP, and man, the battery life is downright ridiculous. I have worked this thing hard the past two weeks and it has been awesome. Here's an example: it's being used from 9am - 1pm at school and I immediately take it to work where I use it for programming for another solid 5 hours. At night I still have on average 20% left and in some cases, it will last throughout the next day's morning classes.

I'm blown away. I don't have to worry about carrying a charger anymore. Man, that's nice.

Also the retina display - all other displays give me a headache now. And that SSD... man.

If any of you are on the fence about the 2015 rMBP... get it. Seriously.

Cheers!

I went from a 2014 Air 11" and the battery was great, but the screen quality was awful. I got the 2015 Macbook Retina and the battery was awful (relatively compared to Air) but the screen was great. I got a Retina Macbook Pro 13" last week and it's amazing, the battery life lasts all day even watching HD videos. I too am impressed. If this is what broadwell brings, Skylake is going to be incredible!

Which processor are you guys running, the i5 or i7 ?

Nice! I'm glad you're happy with your notebook :)

However, I've always had to jeopardize a little bit of battery life because I've always been one of those guys who've found themselves in the market for the 15'' rMBP. I just prefer screen real estate to battery life (despite the fact that I'm docked to a 27'' external monitor over 50% of the time). I just prefer the 15 inch's extra power.

Don't get me wrong, the 13 inch is an incredibly powerful machine.

I have a 2014, though. I originally purchased a 2015 15 inch but I exchanged it for a brand new 2014 (ended up doubling the GB storage to 512 for nearly the same price as my 256 2015 rMBP).

Yeah if you can deal with toting around a 15" when you leave the house the 15" is the most fabulously powerful computer on the market. The reason most people go with 13" is because they're looking for a merging of performance and portability, and for most the 15" is just too big. If I was using it as a desktop more than half the time I'd have my setup (a 27" retina iMac and the 13" macbook pro, and I also have a 12 inch macbook, lol)... the 15" macbook still doesn't hold a candle to the 4.0 ghz iMac I'm pounding away on hehe
