Hello!

What would you suggest to buy?

- Model 2015 with Core M5 and 512 GB SSD
or
- Model 2016 with Core M3 and 256 GB SSD

Both almost the same price

2016 m3 is faster. Choose 2015 only if you know that you need the extra storage.

Strange, 2015 Core M 1.2 GHz is faster in turbo boost compared to 2016 M3

This will be my first Mac computer, but not first Apple product (iPods, iPhones, iPads, Watch)

My requirements:
- work with office documents (Word, PowerPoint)
- some light photo editing
- browsing (multiple tabs)
- media consumption

the CPU speeds are going to be similar. if the 2015 M5 isn't fast enough for you, the 2016 M3 won't be either.
the storage is double.

if you work with a server or iCloud, 256GB storage will be fine. If you have loads of photos and music, go with the 512.
