This is not a big deal as long as it is not a swollen battery, just started to occur, lid will sometimes not fully close but after depressing down with minimal force, it closes normally again.

2015 Macbook Pro has Moshi Ivisor matte screen cover, not sure if that is creating an issue, no keyboard or trackpad issues. I'm hoping it is not a battery issue based on the fact that it easily closes once you quickly close it again.

The battery should push on the bottom too so there should be some curvature there. A coworkers would not balance on the soft feet because of a bulging battery. You could bring it into The Apple Store to have it looked at if you're really worried. My coworker didn't report problems closing the lid - just that it wouldn't balance on a flat surface.

Thanks for responding, anyone out there have similar issues, so currently if I hold the screen in the closed position, everything lines up, but now it never stays closed, when in sleep mode it will remain slightly ajar, still not having major trackpad issues but it seems like the click area is tougher in certain parts of the trackpad.

I still can't see anything different with the Macbook Pro case, has anyone discovered hinge issues causing this or something with the magnet?

are you sure its not the battery? have you checked if your battery is eligible for replacement? I just got mine back today from apple. From what you're describing, it does sound a bit like its the battery as I've heard it described this way before on other sites.

It is mid 2015 but it is not eligible when I run the check on Apple.com

Hmm when you put it down on a flat desk Does it wobble? Like the bottom is blown out slightly? I’m just wondering if the battery is blown anyway, I had a works laptop from dell which also had a similar issue and the battery had expanded .

No, and when I look at it, I can't see any deviations, looks fine, I'm on the fence about whether I should bring it down to the Apple Store to have them just open it up, if indeed the battery is swollen, there is a chance I could convince Apple to waive the $275 fee based on the fact that my Macbook is in the year affected but either way, it is not smart to take a chance, I probably should bring it down to at least check it out.

Is it possible to take the bottom off the laptop. I took mine off yesterday as was making a weird sound and was easy to remove the screws, not sure if it’s different on your year. Might be worth doing a visible check to see if the battery is swollen.

Thanks, here is the interesting thing, as far as the click area on the trackpad, I usually keep this computer in sleep mode for many months, restarted and now it clicks like day 1. On a different post I read that sometimes the software slows down and it can alter the clicks or for some people turn off clicks entirely.

Now this does not change the lid not staying fully shut but I'm hoping this means my battery is fine but I will look into seeing how difficult it will be to open the back of the casing.
