Seems like a very solid deal. Local B&M stores may have additional discounts.

I just picked up '15 MBP today at Best Buy for $999. Very happy with it and it will replace my 2008 unibody MBP.

That $999 price is a great deal, $899 open box is Fantastic!. Considered it but the 128GB was a bit too small for me personally. Had to 'settle' for the $1249 nTB 2016.

They usually have sales around the holidays like Presidents' Day or when school is about to start again.

Yeah, seems the non-touchbar version has been discounted from the start. Maybe the touch bar is more popular than people thought it would be.

Just went to Manhattan today and still saw MBA on sale for $799. now still thinking whether I should wait for MBP 2015 drop again to $999 or grab MBA now. I mainly use my machine for front end web development like ruby on rails, Angular, adobe CS...one thing i doubt about MBA is the CPU power. but again MBA fit more to my very limited budget.

Would you still use a non-IPS, low resolution display with poor viewing angles and brightness though? If it's a matter of $200, you'll be staring at a much better thing every day by going with a retina display equipped MBP.

well, now MBP is sold almost for $1200 and there is $400 difference with MBA. I probably wait until it is sold for $999 next time in best buy then. or grab the refurbished one for $1099 from apple store.

Frys has the 2015 base 14 today for $950 for email members. Thinking about purchasing. They also have 2016 for $1250.
