Hi,

Could you please advise and guide me on the possibility of clean installation of OS X Mavericks(10.9) or Mountain Lion (10.8) on the latest 2015 macbook pro retina that came pre installed with yosemite (10.10.x)?

i come to understand that macbook pro performance is much better with mountain lion and mavericks when compared to Yosemite and hence would like to know about the ability to downgrade to such an OS.

Proper assistance would be really of great help. Look forward to hearing soon.

Thanks in advance

You'd need to downgrade the efi to be able to do it and that's a pita. Google for more info mate

Sorry didn't understand clearly what you mean. Is 'efi' and 'pita' a term? Don't quite recognize it.

Am reaching out here, because i didn't get proper clear guidance from google on this matter.

Ok on a PCs you have a bios but on a Mac it's called the efi. The efi on your Mac when you try to load an older os will stop it happening. You used to be able to roll back the efi to an older version. This is a pain in the ass to do if I'm honest and I'm not sure you could even if you wanted too

What I'm saying is you need to find out if you can roll back first. If you can your locked into your shipped o/s

Okay, I get it crystal clear now Gav2k. So there is a show stopper and an evident one. Thanks again for taking the time to elaborate this. Appreciate this assistance.
