Hi, I just had my 2015 MacBook keyboard replaced under apple's keyboard program.

Does the battery get replaced as well?

Seems like my battery is dying fast since the keyboard was replaced. I'm getting about 3 hours of web browsing only (no video) at 70% brightness. Battery count is 150.

Thanks.

No, my battery was not replaced despite being at ~70% of original capacity at only 350 cycles. I wish I had pushed for it at the time.

no. the keyboard is the top case so the whole upper aluminum will be new.

THe battery is glued to the bottom plate so when u unscrew it from bottom youll see that the whole hardware (ram, processor motherboard) is also part of teh bottom and that will probably get replaced when you replace the battery. Apple just swaps the bottom plate to out in new batteries.

Just brought Mid 2017 MB to Apple Store in Spain last week for keyboard replacement. Genius Bar dude specifically told me that they will also change the battery as well. Don’t know why - and did not ask - as it sholdn’t - as far as I know - have anything to do with the top case. Few months back a friend of mine brought her 2015 model in to the same store also for keyboard replacement and they changed the battery to that as well.

There is a smaller portion of the battery glued to keyboard and replaced with it. You lucky if they replace whole battery, Apple did not do it for me since battery was too worn out and they wanted me to pay.

Ok. We’ll see. They’re still doing the repair as they had to order Swedish keyboard which they didn’t have in stock.
