2015 rmbp spot in center of screen

Every so often some buildup will transfer from the keyboard to the display. Usually I'm able to wipe this off no problem but recently noticed a spot in the same area that will not disappear. I've tried a damp cloth without success. Anything else worth trying or could it be the onset of something that could get bigger?

Perhaps it could that that keyboard is marking the screen and its actually damaging it

I sure hope not. Guess I should have put a screen protector on it.. Sigh
