What do you predict the starting price of the entry level 2016 13" Macbook Pro will be?

If the 13' inch base modell is really going to be $ 1.799 that would be a turn of. At that pricetag you'll get a XPS 15, quad core with 16 gig of RAM and even a surfacebook with a dGPU. I doubt Apple would be dumb enough to risk that. Imagine the prices for the 15' inch modell then, they'd start at $ 2.499.

Personally I think prices will start at 1.499 for the 13 inch base modell and 1.999 for the 15 inch base modell.

I can see that. I honestly think people are crazy if they think it will stay $1399 when the MacBook (total redesign and waaaayyy less powerful cost $1299). Also there is a rumor of a new Air possibly fitting somewhere between the MacBook and the pro. If that happens, without question the pro is going to see a significant price jump.

It cost $1299 for a core M MacBook. That was a $300 jump from the air due to a redesign. It seems they want a premium price with a new design. Obviously I want that $1399 price point, but I see no chance of that happening. Everything is a guess at this point, but my guess is around a $300 premium over the current pro price. Also considering it will probably be the only laptop in their lineup with the OLED touch panel.

I agree, as it stands now, the only way I can see the MBP maintaining a similar/minimal jump is if they price cut the $1,299 macbook. The problem is it's relatively new and I can't see recent purchasers being happy if they cut the price $100+ on a product released +-190 days ago. Even at that, I still think we're looking at a $200-300 jump for their lineup to make sense.

The biggest question for me is how exactly are they trying to position the Macbook and the Macbook Air. I haven't owned one personally so I have nothing critical to say, just that I always gravitated towards the Pro for my needs. The MBA and MB are both super slim portable devices worthy of an "air" label. Don't get me wrong, I dig both devices but from first glance they seem to kind of contradict each other in terms of size and performance IMO. Looking forward to seeing if they introduce more clarity tomorrow.

As it stands it seems like they are still going to offer a classic mac (old air) at the $999 price, the MacBook at $1299 with the core M, a new Air at $1299 - $1499 (which I think will be a MacBook with an i5/i7 and more ports), and the Pro, IMO, at a higher price point and the new design: Side speakers, OLED touch panel, more ports.

My prediction is:

13" classic air $999
12" MacBook $1299
13" MacBook Air $1499
13" MacBook Pro $1799
15" MacBook Pro $2099

The rumored 13" air will sit right between the core M and the Pro. It will have an i5 and be a blend of the MacBook and pro. I think apple really makes a jump in the pro price with a redesign and power.

Gonna say I was pretty spot on. What we thought was the new Air is just a new 13" pro without touch bar. Those prices seem close to what we will see. Touch Bar is going to carry a big premium.
