2016 15" MBP TB - Sleeves

Hi all,

I realise there's a sticky thread on cases for the retina above, but the dimensions of the new models are clearly smaller.

I'm wondering if anyone has found a *fitting* (ie. snug, not oversized) sleeve case for the new 15" model, preferably one that's available to purchase in the UK. This is purely for use transporting the MBP inside another larger bag to protect it from scratches etc.

For what it's worth, I did try a simple felt sleeve from Amazon UK, but on arrival found it to be HUGE in comparison to the MBP. So big in fact that it barely fit inside the bag in which I transport the Mac! It will be going back.

I'm not too bothered about material providing it's enough to protect from scratches. Leather or felt seem good options. I've used a felt version for the iPad for years and it has always served well.

I just got one of the Joli Originals leather sleeves for the new 15" MBP. Very snug fitting and absolute beautifully made:

On the expensive side, and maybe not what your looking for if would prefer a cheap sleeve for simple protection - but if you do make the leap you wont be disappointed, fantastic craftsmanship & great small company.

Waterfield sleeves get high praises from the people on these forums.

I took a risk with this not fitting and it's worked out great! £8.29 is a bargain!

I don't keep my charger in the same sleeve - just the machine. I have a nice leather bag which I pop the sleeve into and keep my paper notebook and charger in (not that we need a charger as much anymore...)

Yes, I've had a Joli case before and it was good quality. In this case I discounted it because of the cost.

I should have bought the 14". I bought the 15" because, you know, it's a 15" laptop, but its way too lose in there. Can you take a pic of it in the sleeve?

I have a feeling they will. They just added "Pro (2016)" under their MacBook category but it looks like all the products within that category currently are for the retina/air models.

It's so shady they're doing that. I could wear size 16 shoes, but my feet would be swimming in them. I say buy a ton and return them to stick it to them. I hate companies that abuse facts to take advantage of customers.

Most people want a snug sleeve fit for their 15” MBP TB. I did NOT want a snug fit! Why? Because the sleeve I use allows enough room for my Griffin Breaksafe connector to remain in the USB-C port all the time. It’s always ready for the Breaksafe power cord to be connected magnetically to the connector. The Griffin’s connector only extends about as wide as your fingernail. So, with a little extra room in my sleeve it all fits nicely without a lot of wiggle room. Sometimes you gotta think outside the box.
