My 2016 MacBook Pro needs a new top case again. This will be the second time in only 3 months. The first time was back in March 2019. This is just ridiculous. Had the keyboard cleaned a few times at the Apple Store but now am on my 2nd keyboard. Apple needs to get their sh*t together. Us Mac Users spend a lot of money on these devices. It’s ridiculously stupid that we have to go through this. Will have gone to the Apple store about 5-6 times for issues on the keyboard. I know it won’t be the last time either.

It’s a shame you can’t bypass your keyboard like I can bypass my dgpu on my 2011 MBP.

I'm in the same boat as you. My 2017 15" had its keyboard replaced 4 times (yes 4!) and I brought it in at least 6 times! The last repair was because the keyboard replacement was faulty right out of repair! They actually did the keyboard replacement there that time because of their mistake. They did put in notes "reoccuring issue 4 times" which I think means I will get a new MBP next repair. I am having issues with my space bar here and there that I keep blowing on to fix. The USB C ports on the left side are getting loose again (was repaired along with my keyboard on repair #2).

I am waiting until the new redesign to bring it in for repair to get a free replacement. These laptops are absurd. I forgot to mention that my boyfriend rolled his eyes everytime I complained about the keyboard, then karma hit him and his delete key stopped working (he has a 2018!). His fixed itself so he never had to bring it in.

a senior advisor replaced my 2016 with a 2019 just recently. also upgraded me to 32gb ram/Vega 20 and the 8 core model as a courtesy. My 2016 was the i7 16 gig 460 graphics so its quite an upgrade.
If you've had 4 repairs talk to a senior advisor and try to get them to cover a new machine for you. Im not too mad at my repairs now that I have a new machine with a fix on the keyboard and 4 year warranty for the keyboard along with 7-800$ In upgrades.

What's the best way to get in touch with a senior advisor? I'm in need of another keyboard replacement, and it sucks to be without my computer for a known issue that keeps recurring.

I emailed Tim Cook not thinking it would do anything but got a call a Few days after.

My 2018 quad got upgraded to an 8-core 2019 just by calling in to AppleCare and asking to speak to a senior advisor. Took about 8 phone calls, 4 different people and 6 hours on the phone, along with a bit of social engineering, but it got done.
