2016 MacBook can support 3 external monitors?

Curious to know if anyone of you have tried to connect 3 monitors to a 2016 MacBook? I know my little mid 2012 MacBook Pro can but have been looking online and I see the 2015 MacBook Pros and Macbook's cannot. Has anything changed with the 2016 model?
