Hello all,

I've got the 2016 MMB 15" MacBook Pro in front of me, and I have largely been having a wonderful experience with it.

I've been playing around with the keyboard a little bit, and I found that the keys tent to be more clicky/stiff than as they are closer to the center (such as T, Y, G, H, etc.), and the fall-off is a lot greater on the right side of the keys than the left. It's been getting more and more annoying as I notice them more while I'm typing because the feedback is inconsistent throughout.

Has anyone else noticed something similar?

I went through a number of laptops due to random resets using an external monitor, mushy vs clicky keyboards, uneven hues of green/pick on white backgrounds (uneven lighting) and usb C ports not grabbing onto connectors and causing cables to slide out... quality control seems to be all over the place on the 2016 MBP. Unfortunately the keyboard issue you are experiencing has been something many other folks have come across as well.

I see. Would it warrant a return / repair? Or is there a solution at all?

I believe an exchange or repair would be up to whoever's discretion for addressing your concern if you are outside your return/exchange period. I had both 13" and 15" with many issues including random resets, poor keyboards, bad screens and even one that had a bad set of batteries... I must be the unluckiest person ever lol. The store I went to was like holy cow, I've never seen this happen to a customer before lol. I've had to make so many trips (costs me about 2-5 hours of my time) every trip I've had to make to the Apple Store... I'm so frustrated with Apple, but you just need to get it in your head what you're willing to accept. My last 15" I'll just live with and had it mailed to me. So far it working well. I don't like the screen (uneven colors on white backgrounds and some dead pixels), but it's functional, the keyboard is good, no random freezes/resets and my USB-C port all work well (one of my 15" had 3 USB-C ports where cable would easily slide/fall out because connectors wouldn't "click" into place, etc.

To answer your question... If it were me, I wouldn't keep the mushy keyboard. I had a 13" NTB that had that issue that I just returned. I was having a lot of missed keypresses and it was irritating.
