Is it a less accurate profile?
I'm wary of profiles that seem to "boost things" at first glance.
Reminds me of the "vivid mode" tv's are always jacked on to at stores
That depends on what you’re looking for and your use case. If you are looking for what you see on the screen vs. what your printer puts out, you should be using one for your printer specifically.
When I’m using illustrator, most of my work is RGB or Hex (web safe), or if a client has a logo in place that is using Pantone, I allow illustrator to give me the closest RGB/Hex match.
Unless you are doing some serious printer output in photoshop, I’d wager that profile would be fine for you.
As I said before, it just looks to remove the “haze” that Color LCD has over it.
