Agreed. I can't see how some of the greatest engineers on the planet couldn't have come up with something better.I agree.. plus not all the drivers even want it. I feel like in an advanced engineering sport like F1, the halo is a terrible attempt.

Sadly no. It's coming in 2018.
Pointless imo. If you think about the accident Massa had when part of a cars suspension hit his helmet, it wouldn't have stopped the accident.
i think they should make a windshield.
They tried this out at the last race. Vettel ran it on his car for one lap and complained it made him dizzy.i think they should make a windshield.
Apparently visual distortion was a problem. It is possible to minimize such distortion but it would require variable thickness polycarbonate (I assume they aren't using real glass as that's very heavy) which creates weak points for impact tests. They tried this out at the last race. Vettel ran it on his car for one lap and complained it made him dizzy.
The curved glass was the problem, even a non-expert in optics could understood that. Or if you driven a bike with curved windshield. It was just bad design which is surprising coming from F1 engineers. They tried this out at the last race. Vettel ran it on his car for one lap and complained it made him dizzy.
2018 Indy cars look pretty sleek. Reduced their wings and opened up the rear wheels by deleting the pods. Getting the majority of their downforce from underneath the car. Now if F1 would clean up their front wings. Thought you guys might be interested....yeah I know it's not F1 but still.

So I'm travelling to the US this weekend. Will arrive in LA Sunday evening. What are my chances of finding the Hungry GP on my hotel TV? Zero I'm guessing! I guess I'll record it and try and avoid the result for a week! Like that would happen.

Looks like Daniel is going well. Topped FP1 and FP2! I'd love to see them mix it up with Ferrari and Mercedes.

Fingers crossed then! It's a quality hotel (I hope!).Qualifying and the Race are on NBCSN (NBC Sports Network). Probably depends on the hotel - I find the "business hotels" (Hilton Garden Inn | Courtyard by Marriott) tend to use DirectTV or local cable and have a pretty big selection of channels so you might get lucky.
I'm guessing you haven't heard him speak?raise your hand if you knew that di resta was scottish....

That's a good idea! I caught most of the highlights of qualifying on my iPhone on the train. Kept loosing visuals though. You could use VPN and watch the extended highlights on 4
Since you're going to be in LA, might I suggest a Tommy Burger at Tommy's? Don't be afraid, try one you'll like it.That's a good idea! I caught most of the highlights of qualifying on my iPhone on the train. Kept loosing visuals though.
Better than in and out?Since you're going to be in LA, might I suggest a Tommy Burger at Tommy's? Don't be afraid, try one you'll like it.
In N Out is pretty good but Tommy's is LA baby! Try one at about 1am. You never know what you'll see...Rollers, Mercs, folks coming back from the Symphony.Better than in and out?
Well I'll see what is close by and time allows. Going to be pretty busy with work.In N Out is pretty good but Tommy's is LA baby!
I also see Palmer is still at Renault (and Sainz at Torro Rosso) and it appears that his seat has been confirmed as safe for 2017 by Renault's management.
