    Hey all,

For anyone that has an iMac (new 2017 model), I noticed that when the iMac goes to SLEEP, the connected external speakers (via the audio jack) will go POP, as it the Mac abruptly and suddenly switched off power to the external speakers.

This did not happen to my older 2012 iMac, which used the same exact (Altec Lansing) external speakers.

A known problem for iMacs? Or is it something with OSX Sierra? 10.12.6

Not experiencing this with my 2017 iMac (Harman Kardon Soundsticks III). I hear no sound at all from the speakers when the machine goes into sleep.

I'm using High Sierra now but I had no problems with Sierra either.

I wonder if it's a hardware problem or something that can be fixed in Apple's OS? I have read others having this speaker "POP' (electrical power related) issue in past versions of OSX.
