My 2017 MacBook is completely dead.

Went to the Genius Bar and they said I could send it in or go to authorized store for data recovery.

Went to authorized store and they said it's completely dead. No power. No liquid damage either. And they could not do data recovery.

Now went to online chat on Apple.com and they're sending a box to send it in.

Warranty until 2020, bought it less than 6 months ago brand new.

Got the box in the mail. Apple does such a good job. Great packaging.

Looking forward to putting my MacBook in the box and dropping it off in the mail.

Wish me luck!!!

How many laptops do you own? You seem to have a 2017, 2018 and 2019?

Good luck on getting it back fully repaired

I don't have so many just my 2019 15" base model, a 2017 MacBook, and an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I'm selling off my iPhone 11 Pro.

I do own the new 16" MacBook Pro but stopped using it a few days ago. I switched back to my 15" because I genuinely enjoy it much better.

I thought I had missed the return deadline for the 16" so was just going to try and sell it. I've had a lot going on in my personal life and usually I'm not so irresponsible but sometimes it happens.

The good news is that I saw that I received it on the 15th of November, so from what I understand I have until January 8th to return it. I'll return it much sooner than that thought. It's just sitting on my table without being used. I just need to get to it.
_________

I did receive my 2017 MacBook 12" back. I feel like it works BETTER than before it broke. It said on a little sheet they sent that the I/O board was bad so they changed that.

All of this was free of charge and the shipping was super fast and the repair took them only like an hour before it was in the mail back to me.

I'm honestly beyond impressed. Some would argue their service is better than the computer itself haha 😂

I spilled a glass of water right into the keyboard. it shut off. I unscrewed the bottom to let the water drain out and then ran a blowdryer into it. the laptop turned back on. lol still have warranty until June 2020 for the MB 2017. other than that never had an issue.

also to add, I distill my water so no minerals in it. I once dropped my iPhone 4s into the ocean and pulled it out after 30 sec. it ended up working but a few months later stopped working most likely due to salt messing up the board. A phone raipair guy still gave me cash for it.
