Morning!

I'm looking to upgrade for my 2011 13 inch MacBook Pro, and I'm considering a refurbished 2016 model vs 2017 to save money. Does anyone know if there's been any other changes besides the processor? I could live with a-year-old processor, but I do want the best display and updated keyboard. Thanks in advanced!

If you wish to save money then the 2016 model might be the better choice. Screens on both are identical as far as I know and there's no conclusive evidence that they keyboard is really changed on the new one either.

Are you staying with 13''? The new processors are a little better at playing 4K video as well.

Yes, I am staying with the 13 inch. Not going to do much video or photo editing, but prefer the MBP to the 12 inch MB. Thank you for your help!

Yeah fair enough. If you want to save some money it's fine to get a refurbished 2016, doesn't sound like your usage is particularly taxing. If you can afford the 2017 it might be that 5-6% better, but it's hardly something you'll really notice. It's not like if you had bought the 2016 a few months ago that you now absolutely have to upgrade, it's a really capable machine anyway. :)

I just bought a brand new 15" Macbook Pro 2016 one b/c the 2017 ones are now available in my country and there is a sale on the old ones.
I saved about $400, the 2017 are nice machines of course but that tiny speed bump isn't something I would notice.
