Has anyone tried playing Rocket League through Steam on their Mac partition on the new rMBs released last month?

How's the performance?

Cheers.

Don't think Rocket League would perform very well on the MacBook.. GPU is to weak, CPU cannot keep the higher GHz without throttling down.

I was surprised how decent the igpu performs in my 2017 i5 MacBook, was playing Starcraft 2 @1440x900 on medium running 28-30fps at worst in a online 3v3 match, can't test rocket league as I don't own the game

Thank you for your response.

Is that considered good?

I don't know much about SC2, except that I see it is from 2010

It's original game is from 2010 but it's had several expansions and updates.
It's a gorgeous game with a lot going on, so that's why some people use that game to see how some hardware runs.

Just got the i5 version with 8gb ram and played a game of HotS at 1440x900 lowest settings and it was around 40-60fps the whole time.
Played some Diablo as well and it was pretty smooth with the same settings, 1440x900 and everything else rock bottom.

Plan on doing some SC2 and possibly some other random Steam games I have if anyone is interested.

Btw this is all on battery for now, I'm testing out if I really want this machine and might return within the 14 day period from Apple, so I didn't get a good adapter to have power and use my usb mouse, just a $10 usb adapter from Amazon for now.
An AI game on HotS only drained the battery about 6% which seems really good.
