Has anybody compared the base models of these two in real world usage? Does one have an edge over the other?

Cheers

I believe the nTB model has a slower (15w) cpu compared to the TB's 45w CPU and the battery is larger in the nTB model, so I think you're going to get better battery performance. I don't have any measurements, but based on what I've read in this forum and knowing the configuration difference its pretty clear the nTB has the edge in battery life.

Thanks. I'm more interested in how it compares to the rMB 12 (2017).

I've just exchanged one for a nTB MBP and hoping the battery is at least as good - the rMB 12 battery was great.

I can't answer for the rMB, but I'm really pleased with my 15" MBP's battery performance, so I can only imagine the 13" nTB to be even better.
