I noticed that the old AppleCare (no +) is being sold quite a bit cheaper than the new AppleCare+. Can I still buy plain AppleCare for my new 2017 m3 rMP, if I don't care about the extra AppleCare+ protections?

If yes, what would be the right one to buy, would this one be correct: MD014LL/A?

And can I just buy this within a year if I decide to?

From my understanding if buying within 3 months of purchase, you automatically get applecare+

If you like in the description of the eBay link, you see the following:
This AppleCare Protection Plan is not the same as AppleCare+ (AppleCare Plus), which offers accidental damage coverage.

That conflicts with what you are saying. No good information available anywhere. Guess I need to call Apple too.

There was a front page story on this the other day and the article said you could still call Apple and get the old AC in the first year, just like before.

You can also still buy standard Applecare at a bit of a discount from online vendors such as Amazon and B&H.

Do you know if that is upgraded to AppleCare+ automatically if bought within the first 60 days?
