Struggling to decide between the two Torro cases at the moment. Wish the magnetic one had more colour choices like the other one.

I can't speak to the Torro cases based on experience, or which you may prefer, but I will advise you to take a look at the item reviews on Amazon Germany's site for the old one, and the pix I alluded to, to help guide your decision.

The original links I included with my post above were to the UK and German sites, but were stripped and replaced by the forum software here with affiliate links to the US site, which lack the reviews I cited, as well as any photos at all.

I guess I shouldn't bother to provide links to commercial sites in the future, if this site is going to pervert them and destroy the meaning.

Thanks! Being in the UK, the links take me to the UK site and it’s really useful to see those concerns, even if the overall rating is high.

That looks great. Have you tried it on an iPad? The magnets feel strong and secure?

I've yet to find one that's a reasonable price. The Nomad one's look amazing though!

My Nomad is looking fabulous after only a few days. I've conditioned it a couple of times to give it the best start in life, and already it's taking on a beautiful sheen and beginning to patina into a lovely earthy, rich dark chocolate colour. Or maybe like a dark roasted coffee bean.

I totally agree on the prices, though. Initially this started out as me looking for a cheaper alternative to Apple's expensive and not very durable folio, but in the end I spent more. Quite a lot more. Don't regret it, though. The Nomad rustic brown rugged folio makes using my iPad a much nicer, more organic, grounded experience. Difficult to do it justice in words. It just feels expensive. And of course it is, but in my opinion it's good value and won't need replacing anytime soon.

I'm glad to hear it! Part of paying so much for products is to have it last long and feel like a quality piece. It's great that it lives up to the hype. I'll have to save up for one! :)

So in the end I went for the exact opposite of what I was looking for. Nomad leather Rugged Folio which is neither attached by magnets, or cheaper than Apple's plastic offering. However, the price actually works out a little better with the exchange rate.

Unlike buying Apple products in the UK, where it’s pretty much always a 1:1 dollar-to-pound rip-off, buying from Nomad directly in the US means I am paying about £50 (inc. shipping) more for a proper quality leather case that's far more likely to stand the test of time. For you US guys, of course, this is close to double the price of Apple's expensive tat, but importing to the UK is a little easier to swallow.

Link below for anyone interested.

Two thumbs up for Horween in the states. I wish they sourced Horween Shell Cordovan for a case. Would be very expensive but no wrinkle and would last forever!

Interesting idea, but I doubt the market for a $500 case would be large. OTOH, if people buy $500 Hermès luggage tags and $350 key rings… The supply side would also be an issue.

But I wouldn't mind one in #8 or Cobalt Blue, in the Dublin that's used in the cases. I've suggested to them that something other than black and brown would be nice. They have branched out to natural, but not really fond of it, and especially the corresponding TPU.

Also would suck when can’t use case anymore because design changed. Unless close to something like Pad & Quill.
