Aesthetically, the 13" is streamlined with minimal wasted space. In contrast the 15" is clunky, and when you open the lid the first thing you notice is how wasted the space is.

Performance wise, the 13" is quiet, is now quad core, and doesn't have half the issues the 15" is facing with thermal government.

I had the 15" for a week and even just sitting there the thing sounds like a 747 taxiing for takeoff..

I agree about the look of the 15". I am not a designer but I would have thought they could have done something more interesting with all of that space.

It's why I ultimately did choose the 13" after considering the 15" for an upgrade from my 2016 13" MBP.
When I compared the both sizes, I felt the 15" looks clunky. With the quad-core 13" I'm a happy camper.

Glad you're enjoying the 2018 13" I felt the same way when I was looking at the display models at Best Buy.

Have you had any heat issues with your 13"? I purchased one from the apple refurb store and it was warm..not extremely warm, but idle..it was warm compared to my 2013. I wonder if its because it was a quad core..but the quad core is under clocked at 2.3ghz and it never was in turbo..anyways I was just wondering about the heat.

I was thinking about trying the 15" but it just felt a little too big for my lap or carrying around. I'm sure pros love it though for its 6 cores for rendering video etc.

Neither can I... granted I have a 2017 quad-core 15”, but at idle I the fans are inaudible to me unless the room is dead silent and I put my head close. I can’t imagine the fans on the 2018 run faster at idle than the 2017. Anyone know for sure? At idle my left and right fans run at about 2000 rpm or slightly under.

15s look more than fine to me, just a scaled up version of the 13"... as far as thermals, the 15" is a lot more powerful, so it needs a more powerful cooling solution, and to use active cooling more often, its just how it is. I don't think the 2016- machines sound unacceptably loud anyway (the 2012-15 models are noticeably louder). And of course you have the sweet-spot screen size with the 15" :p

15" is looking more mature...13" looks more everything Apple could have done with the space
But forever was the case since the 17" and 15" are bigger brothers for the 13"
Some don't like the bigger trackpad, but here, you dont like the wasted space....you need space to rest your palms, you need space for battery etc

They should make a lower case 13" with a top screen from a 15" :D
