2018 iMac and Apple Cinema Display

hi guys,
I have a 2018 iMac. I just bought an Apple Cinema Display. How can I connect the Cinema Display to the iMac and use it as a second screen?

I believe the iMac only has usb-c thunderbolt ports and the Cinema Display uses mini display port.

Wouldn't an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter work?

In this video the guy uses one of these.

If you only have one Thunderbolt port left and you want to add more accessories in the future you could also get a:
[1] External Graphics Card and plug in any video card with Displayport
[2] A thunderbolt 3 dock that has displayport

The Thunderbolt 3<—>Thunderbolt 2 adapter does not carry just Display Port signals, so it will not work.

An eGPU is an expensive solution to connect a display that old. It would be cheaper to find a decent 4K display, a 1440p or a 1080p display and move on.

Most Thunderbolt 3 docks have moved to a full size Display Port port and so you’ll need an adapter such as this - Cable Matters DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort Adapter (DP to Mini DP) - 6 Inches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014DV2RGG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_b5HtDbRR97BQR

The cheapest dock with full-size Display Port would be the CalDigit a Thunderbolt 3 Mini Dock

Cheap enough to try and see if it works...the legend says it should work, so what do you have you really to lose? You should be able to return it if it doesn’t.
