2018 Mac mini Big Sur. where is Netflix 4k after all

is there some further config that needs to be done, Netflix support has zero to say about this

Same problem on my Mac Mini 2018 running Big Sur 11.0.1. Tried to enable / disable VP9 decoder in Safari as other have recommended with no dice. Monitor is LG 43UN700-B.
