My 2018 mini with 32gb memory, 1TB hd, and 4 TB external SSD running Ventura is running FCP extremely slow. Everything is slow, dragging stuff onto the timeline is slow. Exporting a 7 minute video of pictures slides takes hours (1080p). I ended up doing the video on my sons M1 MBP, it took minutes.
My library isn’t very full (it only has a few things in it). I upgraded FCP to the newest version with the same issue (it did update the library). And I have rebooted till the cows come home.
Suggestions (other than upgrading)?
