Received my Mac mini today and everything is working fine except one thing. Whenever my Mac mini wakes up from sleep, my monitor displays a static image and the monitor is making cracking popping noises. However, when I turn the monitor off and back on it's fine.

I know all signs point to the monitor and not the mini, but my monitor worked fine with my old Mac mini and even my Windows PC. Any idea what could be causing it? I'm using the standard HDMI connection.

The HDMI output lacks a power connection that is typical of other HDMI ports, so Try a different adapter or rely on a USB-C connection. We use a KVM switch with VGA inputs and the adapter we originally bought was an active one with a very dim output until we switched to another brand that offered an optional micro-USB power connection which worked well when that was used.
