I picked up a pair of desktop speakers to connect to my new Mac mini. They are powered by usb-c. I see two options to connect the speaker cable... to the headphone jack on the back of the mini, or to the headphone jack on the bottom of my Philips display. With either option, the sound is horrible. Playing music or any audio, its not very loud at all when set at highest volume. I didn't have this problem one I connected our home tv audio speaker via bluetooth. So is that a limitation when hardwiring it to the Mac mini, or am I doing something wrong?

I say using the headphone jack would be the best bet to save port space. So the best 2.1 in many reviews like the Klipsch Pro Media THX!
