Good point. I wonder if Apple will introduce the new redesigned Macbook Pro this year, Ming Chi Kuo has said that they will announce a 16" version this year with a new design. Maybe Apple have decided to bring the Pro redesign forward to this year in response to the keyboard issues. Other wise the redesign would be expected next year.

I’m just hoping they introduce something that isn’t just a complete failure.

I have a 2018 MBA Space Gray, 16gb, 512gb HD, and I'd say buy that over the 15in MacBook.

My answer to the Y Series I5 was to up the RAM, but after using it for a month I can say that it's a great computer and is very fast (or fast enough). Also the portability of the 13 MBA vs the 15 MBP is something to consider since the 15 inch laptop isn't very portable at all. Me personally I would just get a desktop rather than a laptop that big (but everyone has their own preferences).

Agreed. I thought about upgrading the ram to 16GB and I probably should have but I got the computer at such a discount I couldn't pass it up. $970 + tax BRAND NEW with the upgraded 256 SSD which retails for $1400 so I guess ill take it :D.

Agreed. I picked up a 13 MBA today ($250 off price match with Micro Center at Best Buy). My 15 MBP is now going to be used more or less like a desktop. MBA for work/travel.

Lucky bugger! I paid about $2000 dollars in Canada to get the same Air in November. But I have been super happy with the computer. So there's that! :)

Damn well I'm sorry for you! I really do love the computer though I have to be honest. The speed, power, portability, lightweight, and overall design is just great for me.

I appreciate your kind words. But the truth is I also added AppleCare+ to the purchase. And I was going back and forth from the Apple Store to the Microsoft Store in the same mall trying to decide what I wanted. I'm glad I got the Air! It was worth every (Canadian) dollar I spent on it. :p

I’m glad you like it! Yes mine does not have Apple care so I am definitely rolling the dice for sure but I am pretty good on my electronics so to me it’s worth the gamble. I would absolutely take the Air over a Microsoft computer though.
