I just got my first Mac, a 2018 15" MacBook Pro.
Everything is perfect however there is a small weird thing happening.
When I close the lid with the charger attached the machine goes to sleep as expected but at some seemingly random time it will making the 'power connection' sound (the little "bom" or whatever it is called). At first I thought I was just hearing things but I have witnessed it first hand twice today and I can't work out what is going on.
I thought it could be my MX Master bluetooth mouse so I disabled the option for bluetooth devices to wake the machine but it still happens.
I have now tried disabling PowerNap but have not left it long enough to see if it happens again.
As I am new to macOS I am not sure exactly where to look for power management logs. I have had a look in Console and have the command 'pmset -g pslog' running in a terminal to see if it shows me anything.
So far the only thing I can find that might be related is in /var/log Power Management the following events around the time when it last happened.
DarkWake from Normal Sleep [CDN] due to EC.RTC/Maintenance:
Kernel Idle sleep preventers: IODisplayWrangler
DarkWake to FullWake from Normal Sleep [CDNVA] due to Notification:
The last one I *think* is me opening the laptop lid to see if I could catch what was happening but I might be wrong.
Anyone got any advice as to find out what is going on?
Many thanks.
