Its been a while since I had a MBP. Almost got duped in 2016 with the first TocuhBar MBP but those can’t even run a 10-bit HEVC HDR Video. Feel bad for you Owners.
2017 Kaby Lake Nice But still DDR3 really And no HDMI 2.1 Support And less than 11 months later here

comes 2018 Coffee Lake 6 Core i7 glorious DDR4. New Vega GPU’s redesigned battery made by LG. New and improved TouchBar. Can finally hook up the 2018 MacBook Pro to a 4K HDR OLED TV and have full functionality.

All of those specs and changes are pure speculation, a couple of them (DDR4, redesigned TouchBar) being rather unlikely. What does this add to the main 2018 MBP thread?

It’s all pretty much gonna happen. New 6 Core CoffeeLake i7 CPUs need a new Chipset That new Chipset brings enhanced features such as DDR4 Support. But it gets rid of DDR3 Support. And more.

6 core and Vega is nice, sure, but I am certainly not loosing sleep over 10-bit HEVC HDR (Got my TV for that) and even less for glorious DDR4 that offers literally no noticeable difference compared to the non-glorious DDR3.

Again, 6 cores is nice, Vega even more (if Apple goes for it this year) and 2018. will be a great upgrade, but by the time you get it, I will have 2 years of work out of my MBP. Glad that I got it when I did.

Once it has also got FaceID I’m doing my upgrade :)
Why ? What does fac I’d bring to the table other than targeted ads and knowing who is looking at what websites.
I give Apple a Pass on why they needed to eliminate the Home Button etc make things smaller.
But why is FaceID a thing on a Laptop. ?

You already have an iPhoneX ? Then what’s the point.

Targeted ads? Apple isn't Google.

Everything else is pure speculation.

As a developer I would love to login on every single website, app, ftp, etc, etc, with just looking a the screen, different from an iPhone you are always looking at your laptop screen, you don't have to hold it to your eyes...then FaceID could be very good. It is the future for Apple and they'll added as soon as they can to sell more too.

Bingo :) I wouldn't have thought that was so hard to comprehend. I mean they've integrated touchid so why not face id. One less action.

In my case it would be fantastic, now I have a MBP 13 driving a LG 4k 27 and the laptop is on the side, I need to extend my hand and touch the sensor for touch id every time, if they add Face ID the IR sensor twill always be looking at my face, much faster unlocks.

Why do you feel bad for owners of 2016 MBP? They will have had a MBP for two years whilst you had none and if the 2018 is a quantum leap, any that desire it will just trade their older machines in. I’d be careful with the wish box, you don’t know what the future holds. The 2018’s could be great or they could have explosive batteries, overheating graphics, or defective screens, who knows.

Exactly. Similar setup for me, although I'm currently running a 2015 MBP.

We know it's going to happen, just don't know when.

Pfft 2019 you'll finally be able to plug it into an 8K OLED, something the current models are desperate for. I feel bad for people with a 2018 model! And DDR4? Where you been bro, it's all about DDR5 now, it has a bigger number so you know it's better. Tesla designed batteries and 8 core processors, that's the dream. And with specs like that I really hope they put it all on a sticker next to the trackpad, I want people to know how great my $10,000 laptop is! And also why I complain so much when my $14,000 laptop can't even use a 16K TV!

Why limit to batteries, surely they can builtin the Tesla solar roof tiles into the lid :)

You mean people bought a laptop when they actually needed one and are happy with their selection

They're using a MBP while you sit on the sidelines waiting and hoping for the next greatest thing. Also its not a lock we'll see a six core laptop, apple plays things close to the vest and we really don't when and what will be released.

What, sounds like you haven’t heard of the 2019 MBP. It’s gonna be faster AND thinner. And cheaper. With ports!

Also gonna have the new face Touch ID and touch screen. If you want to sign in, just touch your face on the screen BOOM logged in. Magical.
2018 is for penguins and chumps!!!!
