Im currently deciding between new Mini or MBA. I currently use a 2012 mini which will only power one of my 4k screens at 30hz and would like my next Mac to power both of my 40" 4k monitors.

Ideally id like a MBA as it would allow me to undock and then re dock to the monitors when needed as a desktop replacement.

Im not a heavy user and these days my main use is web browsing with very light photo work and watching 4k content.

Do you guys think the Graphic chip inside the new Air is perfectly capable at driving both my 4k monitors at their native res of 3840 x 2160 at 60hz without much issues for my light usage?

Thanks

I'd want more ports. You'll have two and it will burn those up. You'd want one additional port for backup external storage. If docking like this I'd want the MBP with 4 ports.

i think you can daisy chain the two monitors and just plug one cord into the air's tb3 port.
