2018 MBP 13" on sale at Costco $1499. Good deal?

Costco just put their 2018 MBP's on sale and I noticed the 13" base model is going for $1499. Cheapest price I've seen in a long time, so we're talking about picking one up. Costco also doubles the warranty, so $1499 gets you the computer plus 2 years warranty. Curious what you guys think of that price. Should we jump on it or hold out for whatever new MBP is coming from Apple later this year? Not in any hurry to get a new computer, FYI. Just saw the deal and thought it was a good time to update my old 2010 MBP. Thanks!

If it's really the 2018 with Touch Bar, then it's a great price. Otherwise, unless something changed, it's 2017 models.

Costco lists the model as MR9Q2LL/A, which is 2018 with Touch Bar. B&H has that model for $1599, so seems like a good deal.

They had the 15” models on sale a few weeks ago, I bought mine then. Got the 2.6 hex-core with the 560x and a 500gb SSD for $2300

This one is a good deal as well if you want Applecare+. Basically adding Apple Care + for $200 rather than the retail of $269 on that same unit.

Costco has arguably a better return policy than Apple, and they shipped fast. Got my computer in 3 days.

I don't think Costco sells the 16GB version of the 2018 13" MacBook Pro. But for me, 8GB is fine.

Yeah they don’t, I use 14gb of ram on avg, vm Ware, Chrome tabs, etc

A caution on Costco's warranty, check out the reviews, many think it is worthless. It is a third party vendor doing the warranty service. If you have a credit card that offers extended warranty, that extended warranty is voided because of the Costco's warranty. I called Chase Sapphire and they confirmed that.

I don't think that's correct, but I'm going to contact Costco and find out for sure. In the meantime, check out the attached screenshot.

However if you use any other credit card, the Costco warranty may cancel out the extended warranty from your credit card. You know, I am just a random person on internet. Call your credit card carrier to make sure

Just ordered this same deal from Amazon. Seems excellent to me. Get 5% back in rewards as well for using my Prime Visa.

Costco no longer accepts American Express. Citi Visa is now the primary card for Costco shoppers. But you are correct, use your Citi Visa and you get 4 years of warranty in total. It's a great deal!
