Hey everyone! I have recently purchased a new Macbook Pro (2018 15" base model) and have have noticed super slow export times in premiere pro. My videos are around 20-25 minutes in length, a few layers of 1080p footage, no color correction or any crazy extra effects, and video is exported to 1080p 60fps H.264 format. Under these settings it is taking around 1.5 hours to export a video. For comparison, my desktop PC at home will take around 12 minutes to export the same video - it has a 8 core AMD cpu (vs the 6 core intel in the Macbook).
Is there something that I need to do with the settings on my Macbook to improve export times? While exporting a video in Premiere Pro, activity monitor says that the CPU is around 80% idle during the entire export (although premiere pro is listed at 160% cpu in the program list). I understand that Desktop Windows PC vs Mobile Macbook is going to be quite a bit different, but 12 mins vs 1.5 hours is a huge difference... especially with the macbook costing $3000.
Any tips or advice is appreciated.
