I have a 2018 Mini that runs pretty much 24/7 and has so since February 2019 when I bought it. It lives on a Satechi dock/fan/stand. I have never opened the computer but have cleaned out the dust on the dock every couple of months.

Is dust ingestion an issue with this Mini?
Should I open it up and blow out the dust once in a while?

It’s not a normal thing to do. Probably 99.5% of Mac Minis never get blown out. Some Mac Minis came with tamper proof screws to prevent users getting inside it - so Apple doesn’t think cleaning them out is necessary.

I have a 2018 also. I removed the bottom dust cap and took a look. The was some dust in there and I blew out what I could.

I've torn it down further than that to work on it in the past, but it's a bit hairy.
