Annnd done. And it appears I didn’t break anything 😛 (like I did last time I tried to upgrade a Mac probably 10 years ago). It's really not that difficult. The antenna and the rubber bumpers on the memory were the only areas which were at all stressful.
Kit (Mini + ram upgrade) arrived a couple weeks ago. Would have cost me $130-$150 to have an authorized technician do the install. Had time today so I got my nerves together and tackled it.
Most stressful part for me was one of the dang T10 screws on the main board did not want to budge. IFixit’s screwdriver is pretty small and light... could have used something with a bit more leverage for that one. Other than that, getting that antenna connector back on took a minute— just a small space and small connection to line up and get connected.
Took me about 30-35 minutes in all, and I’m now rocking my first Mac desktop in many years (especially one that isn’t a flaky hackintosh— gave up on those in 2011-ish, and prior to that I had a 2006 Mac Mini).
I appreciate the help here in the forum!

I *almost* wish I’d just done 64gb, haha. Drastically more affordable now than shortly after the Mini was updated in 2018. I figure I probably won’t need it for a while (if ever) so I restrained myself 😉Ram prices are dropping, so I just ordered 64GB, lol! Samsung 32GB (M47A4G43MB1)/$137.75
