I have the 2018 Mac Mini with the i7. I ran Geekbench on the iGPU and Black Magic eGPU. Scores were 22,281 and 113,449 respectively. Is that about what I should expect?

I see no reason to doubt it.

GB scores out of context are fairly meaningless. A far better indicator of performance is a comparison using a real world task such as rendering of a large FCPx project. That will tell you how well your money was spent.

For most users, there will be little difference between the two—YouTube and internet surfing are highly unlikely to show a difference.

Gamers, AV app users, developers are among those who can benefit. Also, you can run higher performance monitors.

In any case, while GB scores are interesting, the numbers don't really matter.

damn that's a pretty good score! I had a Late 2015 iMac 5K with the 380M GPU and it scored around 56000 with Metal. Makes me actually reconsider getting a Blackmagic eGPU!
