I am curious to hear from new owners how the speaker sounds. iFixit says the speaker is quite smaller then previous version. I am not sure if the size is the same as existing touchbar models.

Sound decent for 13" size?

yes i am curious too if they are the same as the current model or not?? after my discovery today at the apple store that they removed the fan slits completely from the base model, i am beginning to wonder....................

The NTB never had slits on bottom. Still is single fan and the tear down showed smaller opening for venting. No one has said anything regarding speaker or heat yet. Surprising

I have both the 1.4 2019 and 2.3 2018 versions. Speakers sound exactly the same. However, the speakers look different when you perform a teardown.

The speaker and heat has been fine, no crackling, sound is good for laptop speakers.

Someone also asked about the heat, I don’t take it’s exact temperature reading, but when using for internet, email, regular use, perfectly fine, never hear the fans kick in. When processor intensive, it gets warm, but not any warmer than any other MacBook fro I’ve had.

I have compared it to my Air 2018 and there is less bass in new entry level Pro. Also Air sounds "wider". Hard to explain but quickly testing them side by side difference is quite obvious. All in all Air 2018 feels maybe little more solid, even trackpad glides more silent and easier in Air. but it could be that since I've used it couple weeks it may have gotten some oils from finders to cause that but definitely touchpad looks like new and clean in my Air, so it could be that they are not exactly the same in both.

Difference in bass can be even felt by touching the case that air vibrates more.
